How WorthCheck estimates traffic and earnings

A domain lookup is not a guess pulled from thin air. Each report mixes live public rank data with a published traffic and ad-revenue model.

1

You enter a domain

Type wikipedia.org or paste a full URL. WorthCheck cleans the host, drops www, and looks up the registrable domain.

2

Live rank is fetched

We query the Tranco list, a research ranking of the most visited websites. Rank 1 is Google-scale. If the site is not in Tranco, we fall back to a modelled rank so you still get a report.

3

WHOIS, DNS and location

RDAP gives registrar, created date and expiry. DNS gives IP. Geo lookup maps the server to a country, which later sets the ad CPM.

4

Traffic is modelled from rank

Daily unique visitors are estimated as 900 million divided by rank. Pages per visit drop as rank gets weaker. Daily pageviews = visitors x pages per visit.

5

Revenue and worth

Ad revenue = pageviews / 1000 x country CPM. Finance and hosting names get a higher CPM; wiki, edu and news get a lower one. Site worth is 6x yearly ad revenue.

What the numbers mean

What this is not

WorthCheck is not AdSense, Google Analytics, Similarweb, SE Ranking or Alexa. Those products measure or sell traffic panels. We estimate from public rank and site facts so anyone can compare domains without an account.
