How website worth is estimated

10 September 2026 · Formula

WorthCheck’s headline “worth” is not an appraisal. It is a multiple of modelled ad revenue, in the same family as public website-worth tools.

The chain

  1. Daily visitors ≈ 900,000,000 / global rank.
  2. Pages per visit sit between about 2.25 and 3.6, higher for stronger ranks.
  3. Daily pageviews = visitors x pages per visit.
  4. Daily ad revenue = pageviews / 1000 x country CPM.
  5. Yearly ad revenue = daily x 365.
  6. Worth = yearly ad revenue x 6.

Why 6x

Public worth checkers often capitalise a year of ads at a small multiple. Six times yearly ad revenue is a simple, comparable sketch. A real buyer also prices profit, brand, email list, traffic quality, legal risk and how much of the traffic is actually ads vs subscriptions.

CPM adjustments

Server country sets the base CPM. Domain names with finance, insurance, crypto or hosting words get a higher CPM. Wiki, edu, gov, news and video words get a lower one. That is a niche hint, not a content audit.

The range

Each revenue card also shows a band from 55% to 170% of the central estimate. Use the band when you brief a client. Do not quote only the middle dollar.
